Diego Real de Asua and his team at the Hospital Universitario de La Princesa in Madrid, Spain, have reported, from a study, that despite the fact that immune protection granted by COVID-19 vaccines wanes over time, a booster COVID-19 vaccine dose promotes a renewed, effective cellular and humoral immune response in adults with Down syndrome, akin to that seen in the general population. This findings were especially evident among adults over 40 years of age.
